This idea had previously been proposed by a student from the Netherlands, Alec Momont. Justin Boutilier, Professor Timothy Chan, and Professor Angele Schoellig expect these drones can transmit directly to the homes of people AEDs.
Boutilier said that 85 percent of heart attacks occur far from the hospital and a bit hard to reach.
"To patients, AEDs are somewhat less useful because it is difficult to reach on time. Then the considerable cost incurred to provide AEDs in the corner of the city, "he said.
The drone will be able to send aid within minutes of uninterrupted traffic jams. Currently the main problem is licensing the use of drones.
"If Google and Amazon are allowed to use drones to send the goods by the government, they would allow the drones to send AEDs can save the lives of many people," said Boutilier.
