One of the distinguishing features of Windows 10 Mobile from other mobile operating system is the Continuum.
For those of you who do not know, this is a feature where Windows 10 Mobile smartphone can be "transformed" into a PC when connected to the screen.
However, although it could have experiance as a PC, an application that can run on Windows 10 Mobile Continuum very limited UWP only, while the desktop application (win32) can not be executed there.
But reportedly the next year it is going to change. Through a project codenamed Cobalt, Microsoft is rumored to be making emulation desktop application (win32) to Windows 10 Mobile "Redstone 3".
With this emulator then Windows 10 Mobile-based smartphones with ARM64 processor can run desktop applications (Win32 / exe / software x86).
It works just like how 32-bit applications can run on 64-bit Windows, except that this time the Windows PC applications will be run in Windows 10 Mobile.
If this is really implemented Microsoft Mobile to Windows 10, then Windows Phone smartphone will again be very interesting to have, considering not only be "transformed" into a PC, but can also run PC software.
According to the news, this feature will be released to Windows 10 Mobile "Redstone 3" at the end of 2017.
Seeing how Microsoft surprised many by Surface and Surface Studio Dial, it is not impossible if this feature is also the first to be introduced through the Surface Phone.
Moreover, Microsoft is reportedly cooperating intensely with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to release another smartphone in 2017.
But just as Continuum, not all Windows 10 Mobile smartphone will be able to enjoy its. Only certain smartphone with qualified specifications are going to be able to run PC applications therein.
